Degree Options

Building and customizing your degree to include unique and/or complementary subject combinations can give you an advantage in the workforce. We make it easy for you to pair subjects you are passionate about to set you on a path to a rewarding and fulfilling career.

To graduate with a three-year degree, students must earn 90 credits by completing certain required courses and elective courses. 

To graduate with a four-year degree, students must earn 120 credits by completing certain required courses and elective courses. 

Required courses are courses students must take within a specific field to complete a program of study. Elective courses are courses students choose to take that allow them to explore other areas of interest. You can apply your elective credits towards the completion of majors, concentrations, minors and certificates in a particular field of study. 
 

Specialization: 60 credits concentrated on one specific field of study.
Major: 42 credits concentrated on one specific field of study.
Concentration: 36 credits concentrated on one specific field of study.
Minor: 24 credits concentrated on one specific field of study.

Students can add a minor to their Specialization, Major, or Concentration by completing a minimum of 24 credits concentrated on one specific field of study.

You can complete a double minor by completing a minimum of 24 credits in two different fields of study

Certificates

Laurentian also provides the opportunity to enhance your studies with the following certificates. Certificates are earned after completing 30 credits in an area of study.
